Malteser Tiffin Bites

Literally one of the arguments in my flat between the 'southerners' and 'northerners' was whether those chocolate no bake, fridge bars were called tiffin or rocky road. Apparently some people say the difference between the two is the addition of marshmallows in rocky road, others say there is no difference, some come and join the argument and read up on how to make these delicious malteser tiffin bites!

You Will Need:
For the base:
♥ 125g Digestive Biscuits
♥ 200g Milk Chocolate (you can't go wrong with Cadburys!)
♥ 2-3 tbsp Golden Syrup
♥ 100g Unsalted Butter
♥ 103g bag Maltesers ('sharing' bag)
For the Topping:
♥ 160g Milk Chocolate
♥ 25g Unsalted Butter
♥ 1-2 tbsp Golden Syrup

Method:
The method is super super easy, it's kind of just a case of mixing everything together and the hardest part is just melting the chocolate without burning it!

1) Line a 20cm baking tray with greased proof paper
2) Melt together the chocolate, golden syrup and butter: I did this carefully in the microwave but you can always do it over a pan of boiling water instead. Just make sure you're careful not to burn the chocolate, especially if you're doing it in the microwave.
3) Crush up the biscuits and 30g of Maltesers into mainly crumbs, a few bigger lumps of biscuit is good though!
4) Next mix this mixture into the bowl of melted chocolate/butter/golden syrup and also add the remaining whole Maltesers making sure the dry ingredients are all coated with chocolate and pat this into the tin
5) For the topping, repeat step 2 but with the amounts stated in the ingredient list and once melted, spread this on top of the base
6) Finally, cover with cling film and leave it in the fridge for around an hour

These sweet treats are literally insane, if heaven were to have a taste it would be this. The combination of chocolate, crispy Maltesers and crunchy biscuits goes together perfectly, it's like a dream! If you're needing something easy and delicious to bring to a bake sale or for guests these are perfect, the actual prep took about 10-15 minutes and make virtually no mess at all. Although you never need an occasion to make treats, I'm just going to eat some in front of Love Island!
